DC Food Waste Grant


Applications due February 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm

The Washington D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) is accepting applications for the Food Waste Innovation Grant, the deadline has been extended to February 7, 2022 at 2:00 pm. DSLBD is partnering with community organizations to assist small food businesses with reducing food waste, aligning with the Sustainable DC 2.0 and Zero Waste Omnibus Act objectives. This grant will support restaurants, food manufacturers, shared commercial kitchens, and commercial corridors to install and start an on-site composting solution to help save you money one dumpster at a time. Reducing food waste in the District’s food businesses can cut costs in a particularly vulnerable industry, reduce rodents, and reduce carbon emissions. Loop Closing can help your organization apply and receive up to $10,000 of funding.
